With a choice of three difficulty levels on offer in Wipeout HD and Fury, the adaptable difficulty is actually particularly well done here, as not only does it adjust the skill of any computer controlled opponents, but it also lowers the targets you'll need to achieve - a time trial event on Novice difficulty will have a much lower target time than if you were playing on Veteran. The difficulty does vary a lot from game to game, too, with Wipeout 2048 providing a pretty solid challenge (at least partially thanks to the fact it doesn't have an adjustable difficulty level), while Wipeout HD and Fury are, for the most part, a lot easier. With nothing in the way of a tutorial, this is a game you'll need to pick up on your own - and while that's not too tricky to do, you'll want to keep an eye out for the tips and tricks mentioned on the loading screens, as they'll let you in on the secrets you'll need to win. In terms of accessibility, the Wipeout Omega Collection is aimed at experienced players, and fans of the earlier Wipeout games.
How easy is the Wipeout Omega Collection to pick up and play? Outside of the career mode, the game supports both two player split-screen, and up to eight players online, although sadly there's no support for split-screen online play.
